The Town of Paradise advises of a lane closure for a section of Topsail Road to complete road repairs. The eastbound lane of Topsail Road, between Corcoran's Road and Duffs Crescent, will be closed Thursday, October 13, and Friday, October 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Crews will work to minimize the impact on traffic; however, given the nature of this project, traffic interruptions can be expected. The Town of Paradise is advising residents that trail maintenance for Octagon Pond Trail is scheduled to start October 12 and will be ongoing for approximately two weeks, weather permitting. Crews will be completing brush cutting, trail maintenance and other work on the west and southwest sections of the trail (between the Paradise Park access point and Octagon Pond Elementary). The trail will be open for use, but trail users are asked to use caution in the work areas and follow all posted signage....

The Town of Paradise advises that crews will be working at the ballfield at Peter Barry Duff Memorial Park to prepare the site for the new scoreboard. This portion of work, which involves trenching, electrical conduit installation, and concrete work, is scheduled to start on October 11, and take approximately two weeks to complete, weather permitting. Residents are asked to avoid the construction area and to follow all posted signage. The Town apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this work.

The Town of Paradise advises of a planned, temporary water shut-off for Evergreen Village, primarily affecting Ashgrove Drive, for Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. The water will be turned on each evening. The water shut-off is required as part of the water and sewer upgrades on-going in the area. When water is restored, residents are reminded to run their water for a few minutes in the event of any discolouration or air in the pipes....

To mark the official opening of the new Multi-sport Turf at the Dianne Whelan Memorial Soccer Complex, the Town of Paradise is hosting a Friday Night Lights celebration. Mayor Dan Bobbett and Council will be joined by representatives from the Paradise minor sporting associations for the event.
Members of the media are invited to attend. As this is an outdoor event, those attending are advised to dress appropriately.
