The nomination process for the 2017 Town of Paradise election ran from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31. A total of 2 candidates for mayor and 16 candidates for councillor were nominated. The election is on September 26.

The Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, announced today that the new Paradise Intermediate will be built just off McNamara Drive, in Paradise. The Honourable Dale Kirby, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development, will unveil the location for the new Paradise Intermediate tomorrow (Tuesday, August 29) at 1:30 p.m. on McNamara Drive, near the entrance to the Dianne Whalen Memorial Soccer Complex.
Minister Kirby will be joined by Tony Stack, CEO/Director of Education (Interim) with the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District, and Mayor Dan Bobbett and councillors from the Town of Paradise.

The Town of Paradise advises residents that construction work for the Topsail Road Phase IV project is nearing completion and the detour is no longer required. Effective today, August 25, 2017, traffic will flow through Topsail Road and the detour route will no longer be in place. All traffic calming measures in place on the detour route will be removed in the next several days.
