The Waterford Valley Rotary Club today honoured the Mayors of Mount Pearl, Paradise, and St. John’s for their leadership role in efforts to ensure the future vitality of the Waterford River. At a luncheon ceremony at Hotel Mount Pearl, Mount Pearl Mayor Randy Simms, Paradise Mayor Dan Bobbett, and St. John’s Mayor Dennis O’Keefe, were each presented with a Certificate of Recognition and named Paul Harris (Founder of Rotary) Fellows by the International Rotary Foundation.

The Waterford Valley Rotary Club will present recognition awards to the Mayors of Mount Pearl, Paradise, and St. John’s for the leadership displayed in responding to the Club’s work for a unified effort to ensure the vitality of the Waterford River. The Town of Paradise advises that due to the high winds forecast, Garbage (Area 1) / Recycling (Area 1B) Collection is cancelled for Monday, January 16. It is rescheduled for Saturday, January 21. Residents are asked not to place wheeled garbage carts or recyclables out for collection on Monday.

The Town of Paradise advises residents of Evergreen Village of a temporary water shut-off for Thursday, January 12, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to complete repairs to the water main system. The Town appreciates residents’ patience while work is being completed in the area.Residents are asked to run their water for a few minutes after the connection is restored in the event of discoloured water. The Town of Paradise advises on an emergency water shut-off for the Donna Road Pump Station which will affect residents from Clearview Heights and Topsail Road intersection to Trails End Drive and Topsail Road intersection.
The unplanned water shut-off is needed to complete repairs in the area. Crews are working to address the issue.
A further update will be provided by midday today (Tuesday, October 17, 2017). The Town apologizes for the inconvenience.
