The recent 2016 Curby Clean-up Day removed over three tonnes of litter and garbage from around the Town of Paradise. This year, more than 150 individuals participated from various neighbourhoods throughout the Town and from community groups such as 905 Viking Air Cadets, Paradise Scouts, RBC Paradise, Paradise Running Club, and the Youth Advisory Committee.

The Town of Paradise was honoured to receive the Bridging the Gap Award for 2016 from Recreation Newfoundland and Labrador (RNL). Mayor Dan Bobbett and Town recreation staff accepted the award at the recent RNL awards gala. The Award “recognizes an individual, group, program or facility that has furthered the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the area of recreation, sport and active living.”

The Town of Paradise is advising residents that the planned detour on Paradise Road will continue for one additional day. For Thursday, June 2, 2016, the detour will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 5:00 p.m.
The detour, needed to allow water and sewer repairs in the area, will divert traffic through both Trails End Drive and Milton Road (see attached photo for route). While the detour is in place, Paradise Road will be open for local traffic only from Topsail Road to Milton Road.

The Town of Paradise is advising residents that effective immediately the playground at the St. Thomas Line Community Centre is closed to all users. The closure is to secure the site for the demolition of the building and construction of a new Community Centre.
Residents can use the neighbouring playgrounds at Reardon Avenue and Atlantica Drive.
The Town of Paradise apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Town of Paradise is advising residents that a section of Topsail Road, the westbound curb lane, from the Kenmount Road off ramp to Carlisle Drive, will be closed to traffic on Tuesday, May 31, to allow for immediate road repairs. The section of road will be closed starting at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.
During construction, the public is reminded to proceed with caution and to expect delays.
