The Town of Paradise Council Meetings begin at a new time starting this month. The Public Council Meetings will begin at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers, located at Paradise Town Hall, 28 McNamara Drive. The next Public Council Meeting is Tuesday, January 8, 2019.
The Public Meeting on January 8 is the first one under the revised format. In December 2018, Council approved to eliminate Committee of the Whole meetings. Previously, Council held Committee of the Whole meetings, which were closed to the public, followed by a Public Council Meeting. Council will still hold Privileged Meetings as needed for topics relating to legal and human resource matters. This change is the latest step in the Town's transparency work, and provides further insight into council decision making.
The Town of Paradise Public Council Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. To accommodate the Christmas statutory holidays, the meetings for January 2019 are scheduled for January 8 and 22. The agenda for the Public Council Meeting is posted to the Town website the day prior to each meeting at paradise.ca/minutes. Minutes for Council Meetings are also posted to the Town website, once approved at the following Council Meeting, at paradise.ca/minutes.
