The Town of Paradise offers an Accessible Transit Project. Under the program, eligible residents can avail of free taxi service within the Town.
Paradise residents with a disability can apply to the Town to participate in the program.
How it Works:
- To be eligible for the program, residents must have either a physical, cognitive, sensory, or visual limitation and must be assessed by health practitioners at Body Quest Health and Wellness Centre. The cost of the health assessment is covered by the Town.
- Residents who meet the criteria will be registered in the program, enabling them to avail themselves of taxi service from Newfound Cabs. The cost is fully covered for use within the Town boundaries. If a participant wants to travel outside Paradise, the Town will cover the portion of the cost within the municipality.
- Once registered in the program, participants will receive a Town-issued identification card, and can contact Newfound Cabs each time they need to use the service. Participants do not have to pay for the service within the Town of Paradise; the service is billed directly to the Town through the taxi provider.
Application Procedure:
- Complete the Application Form and forward it to the Town of Paradise
- Assessment with health practitioner at Body Quest Health and Wellness located on 15 McNamara Drive. (Note: The Town covers the cost of assessment)
- Accepted applicants will receive a program ID card issued by the Town of Paradise
- Program members may show their ID card to their Newfound Cabs driver when taking a cab ride. The driver will apply the program discount to the fare and the service is billed directly to the Town through the taxi provider.
