The Town of Paradise breaks ground today to commence construction of the Paradise T’Railway Connection. This piece of the trail is the final section to be developed, and will connect 40 kilometres of well-developed walkway along the railbed.
“We are thrilled to begin construction of this final piece of the T’Railway Connection, so residents and visitors alike can fully enjoy the 200+ kilometre trail network in the region,” says Town of Paradise Mayor, Dan Bobbett.
The upgrades to the trail will allow it to extend coast to coast from St. John’s Harbour to Conception Bay South. This will mean more opportunities for hikers and cyclists, as well as improved passage throughout the trail system. The development of this section of trail includes widening and resurfacing, a granular surface, as well as appropriate edging, drainage, and accessibility.
“We hope the residents of Paradise, as well as our surrounding communities, can enjoy the T’Railway Connection even more once this new development is complete. Whether you’re cycling or hiking, come down and take advantage of the outdoors in our community,” says Mayor Bobbett.
The new piece of trail is made possible with support from Trans Canada Trail.
