The Town of Paradise has reached an agreement with the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) to extend the current contract for Town bargaining unit employees. The agreement was officially approved at the regular Public Council Meeting on October 6, 2020.
Under the agreement, the contract is extended for one year, to June 30, 2021, and includes a 0.9 percent wage increase. There are no other substantive changes to the contract at this time.
“We have a great team of employees in the Town of Paradise, who work hard every day to provide services and programs to our residents and we are pleased to reach a one-year contract extension with NAPE,” said Mayor Dan Bobbett. “We feel a contract extension is a responsible approach at this time as we deal with providing operations under a global pandemic.”
Approximately 125 Town employees in all departments are members of NAPE. The new agreement is effective as of July 1, 2020 and expires on June 30, 2021.
