The Town of Paradise is joining the Federal and Provincial Governments to recognize September 30 as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and will close all Town facilities for the day.
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to honour survivors of residential schools and to help raise awareness about the terrible legacy of residential schools in Canada. The Town is encouraging all residents and employees to take time on September 30 to learn more about Indigenous peoples, to reflect and acknowledge Canadian and provincial history, and to learn more about the residential schools. Each citizen has a part to play in making the province better for everyone, and that starts with greater understanding of all individuals and their histories.
