January 4, 2016 – Paradise, NL: To honour the upcoming retirement of Paradise-native Sgt. Judy Sparkes, the Town of Paradise will host a Depart with Dignity Flag Raising Ceremony.
The Depart with Dignity program is offered by the Canadian Forces to personnel with at least 25 years of military service to recognize the member’s contribution to the Canadian Forces and to Canada. In recognition of the member’s lengthy service, the individual is eligible for presentation of a Canadian Flag which is flown according to the member’s wishes.
Sgt. Sparkes is retiring from the Royal Canadian Air Force in 2016 after 35 years of service. She has requested her Depart with Dignity Flag Raising ceremony be held in her hometown of Paradise. Mayor Dan Bobbett, Councillors, and other officials along with Sgt. Sparkes and her family will be in attendance.

The Town Hall is currently closed due to the fire in the Depot on February 9, 2025.
The tax payment deadline is extended to March 28, 2025. There are several ways to make payments, including pre-authorized debit, online banking, through your mortgage company, and mail-in cheques. Online payments (credit card, e-Transfer and PayPal) are accepted through PaySimply, a secure third-party provider through the Town website.
Payments can be made in-person at the Paradise Double Ice Complex from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
