With the forecast for the comings days, the Town is providing an update on snow clearing activities. Since the last snow storms, crews have been out street widening and doing snow removal in cul-de-sacs. Due to the volume of snow from the past snowfalls and some issues with our equipment, street widening took longer than normal. Since the last storms, cul-de-sac and hydrant clearing, trail grooming, and asphalt pothole repairs are ongoing.
Town crews are ready for the impending storm. Once the snow starts, crews will be clearing the main, collector, and local roads in all routes, with a priority focus on Topsail Road, Paradise Road, St. Thomas Line, Kenmout Road, and major hills. Depending on the weather, for example during white-out conditions or heavy snow fall times, crews will have to focus on main roads. When the active snow fall is over, crews will focus on making one cut on all local roads based on the snow clearing routes.
The Town will continue to issue updates on facility closures and snow clearing as needed based on forecasts and weather conditions throughout the weekend.
