Furlong, Erin |
I grew up in Baie Verte, NL. I completed a BSc. in Psychology and a MSc. in Experimental Clinical Psychology and currently work as a Behaviour Management Specialist with NL Health Services. I moved to Paradise in 2013. My family and I are proud to be a part of a town that is continuously growing and improving. As this growth continues, I want to advocate for it to grow in a way that is best for ALL residents. I have nothing to personally benefit from by being elected; I'm simply passionate about our town and its residents. My dedication to this town is proven in my actions. Among many other things, I've given my time, passion and advocacy as Chair of the Parents for a Paradise High School Committee and as Chair of the Octagon Pond Elementary School Council. I am a strong advocate for what I believe in and for others and what they need. I am comfortable speaking up when necessary and am not afraid to be the 1 person voting differently than everyone else if it's what is best for those affected by the outcome. I believe in transparency and trust between Council and its residents. Contact Information: Telephone: 709-699-0432

Kelly, Tony |
Geraldine and I built in Elizabeth Park in 1987. We raised our children here, Christopher and Chantelle. 37 years later, we are still happy to call Paradise home. I run for Councillor because I believe that my talents / abilities could be put to good use to help our Town continue to prosper. My career as an Environmental Health Officer was spent serving the public. This work experience provided me with strong interpersonal skills needed to communicate with, understand, and assist people, and, represent our Town to various government agencies. Education: College of Trades - Forestry Technology; Ryerson - Environmental Health; Marine Institute- OH&S ; Memorial - Bachelor of Technology (Engineering & Applied Science). Volunteering in the labour movement, I earned the respect of many and was continually elected to lead. Served on NAPE Board of Directors (17 years); and NL Federation of Labour (7 years). Over the years I participated with several Town committees; and invariably contacted the Town on local issues either verbally or in writing. Being retired, I commit to being full-time Councillor. I promise to be accessible, listen to your concerns, and work to find solutions. Respectfully, I ask for the opportunity to serve you.

Maher, Tommy |
Hi, I'm Tommy Maher, a 49-year-old from Freshwater in Placentia Bay, NL. Growing up in this picturesque town, I delved into the world of entrepreneurship at a tender age of 12, working alongside my family in our family garage. The wisdom of successful entrepreneurs, particularly my father and three brothers, has been my guiding light through the years. For the past two decades, I've called Paradise my home—a place where I've nurtured three wonderful children, forged lasting friendships, and crafted unforgettable memories. Family holds a special place in my heart, and you'll often find me in the great outdoors with my loved ones enjoying nature. Our gatherings are brimming with joy and laughter, for every special occasion. Since 2004, I've been a part of Paradise, establishing my own construction company. Specializing in excavation, I've broke ground for over 600 new homes in Paradise, each a testament to my dedication and passion for what I do. I have that same passion to be elected Councillor to help form some deserved changes to our growing town and I feel that now is my opportunity to give back to our community. Together, with your support, we can achieve an even better Paradise!
