The Noise and Nuisance Regulations of the Town of Paradise outline the permitted use of personal fireworks.
The use of personal fireworks is only permitted on New Year's Eve and Canada Day. Residents are not permitted to detonate personal fireworks at any time other than New Year's Eve or Canada Day unless approval is obtained from the Town, through the Municipal Enforcement Office.
"No person shall detonate fireworks or explosive devices not used in construction, unless authorized by the Enforcement Authority and subject to the approval of law enforcement or other regulatory agencies, with the exception of statutory holidays as declared for New Year's Eve and Canada Day. Maximum fine for violation of regulation is $1000."
When using personal fireworks on permitted days, users are reminded to do so safely - only purchase from authorized dealers and follow all instructions, always use outside and away from any structures, keep a fire extinguisher or water nearby, and ensure spectators are a safe distance away.
